Real Time Ultrasound (RTUS)

RTUS allows us to see how your muscles working in real time. This enables your physiotherapist to show you how to activate and control the muscle more effectively and target your rehabilitation specifically to your level and needs. Similar to an obstetric ultrasound it is a comfortable and non-invasive scan. Please note imagaing is usually best when the client has a moderately full bladder.

If you’re suffering from any of the following, RTUS can help you get better results, faster:

- Acute & chronic back / pelvic pain / hip pain

- Post-natal abdominal weakness / separation

- Pelvic floor dysfunction or weakness / incontinence

- Post abdominal or pelvic surgery rehabilitation

- Sports injuries (particularly back, pelvis, hip & groin)

For women with Pelvic Floor concerns, an internal assessment and treatment options may be offered.  A full explanation about this assessment is always given and your consent will be established prior to any assessment taking place.
